Community and societal ripple effects
Our bootcamp in Enugu was never only about the children in the room.
At our just concluded GlowPulse 2.0, organised by the Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation and COLI Mental Health Academy, an IAOTH-accredited training provider, we hosted sessions in visible public spaces — Omedel Luxury Hotel, Hotel Presidential by Amber, De Angelo event Centre and The Andover Hotel. That was intentional.
Mental health belongs in the same places we celebrate learning and leadership.
When children gain stronger EQ, schools feel it: fewer disruptions in class, better relationships with teachers, more capacity to learn. Communities feel it: less needless conflict, more civic sense, and a future workforce that can work with people, not only pass exams. The foundation’s wider work — school visits, free counselling, support for vulnerable groups — exists because one equipped child becomes part of a healthier street, church, classroom and workplace.
Ripple effects are slow and real. They do not start with a slogan. They start with a child who can pause, empathise and choose.
The world we want tomorrow starts with the conversations we have with children today.
At Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation, we believe that prevention starts with awareness. When children are equipped, communities become more resilient.
What community change do you hope for when more children learn these skills?
About GlowPulse
GlowPulse is organised yearly by the Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation and COLI Mental Health Academy. It serves children and teens through sessions on emotional intelligence — including anger management, self-regulation, self-awareness and empathy — as well as digital literacy and screen-addiction awareness, play therapy, resilience training, anti-bullying and cyberbullying tools, vocational and career awareness, healthy boundaries, soft skills, stress and anxiety management, and practical modules such as CPR and cancer awareness.
Every part of the bootcamp is designed for measurable outcomes, including the multi-session structure itself. The opening ceremony and meet-and-greet create initial awareness and launch the programme. Later sessions on vocational training, games, play therapy and resilience, followed by the closing celebration, provide natural moments to reinforce the message.
Individual skills — such as self-regulation or online safety — are linked to broader results: calmer homes, stronger school performance and clearer career readiness. GlowPulse is a high-visibility entry point into wider mental health support, connecting families to our ongoing work, including free counselling, school outreach and COLI Academy courses.
