Rangers Intl FC Foundation’s #MentorMe Activities, Partnerships And Benefits
The Rangers International Football Club Foundation (RIFC Foundation) has outlined its #MentorMe program, a collaborative initiative with Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation (CALMHAF), designed to support children, young individuals, parents, sports coaches, educators, and other key stakeholders in child care and development. Coach Ebere Amaraizu, Chairman of RIFC Foundation, a trained Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) coach, U.S. International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) alumnus on the U.S. judicial system protecting women and children, and lead consultant at Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation, emphasized that the program adopts a community-driven, problem-solving approach to address child care, development, and mental health challenges while highlighting the critical roles of parents, coaches, guardians, caregivers, and educators.
The unique contribution of Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation lies in its specialized expertise in delivering mental health awareness and education. The organization’s team, trained in social work, counseling, and community development, brings a wealth of knowledge in areas such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mental Health First Aid, Child Psychology, Counselling, Life Coaching, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotional Intelligence, Sports Administration and many others. As an accredited organization by the International Association of Therapists (IAOTH), UK, Cope and Live delivers evidence-based programs through its newly launched COLI Mental Health Academy - www.coliacademy.org which offers internationally (IAOTH UK) accredited, comprehensive mental health education and training. This expertise equips parents, coaches, educators, and other stakeholders with the tools to recognize mental health indicators, identify changes in behavior or mood, and respond effectively, fostering a deeper understanding of emotional and psychological well-being to create sustainable support systems within communities.
In partnership with Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation (CALMHAF) and Carmelite Prisoners Interest Organization (CAPIO), the RIFC Foundation has developed a comprehensive, evidence-based framework. This framework empowers stakeholders to support children’s mental health by addressing challenges in social interactions, enhancing performance in sports, academics, and social settings, and managing performance-related stress. The program aligns with the RIFC Foundation’s strategic focus on health and well-being under Sustainable Development Goal 3.
The #MentorMe program leverages psychosocial engagements to deliver significant benefits for children and young persons. These engagements, informed by Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation (CALMHAF)’s specialized training and evidence-based approaches, are designed to build resilience, boost self-esteem, improve emotional regulation, and foster healthy coping strategies and positive relationships. By promoting self-awareness and confidence, the program equips young individuals with practical tools to navigate challenges, transform anxieties and fears into strengths, and recover from setbacks. These psychosocial interventions create supportive environments that enhance overall well-being, enabling children and young persons to thrive in various aspects of life.
The program also advocates for moving beyond traditional or outdated approaches, which often fail to address the root causes of emotional and mental challenges. Instead, it emphasizes a holistic focus on emotional, mental, psychological, and general well-being, ensuring sustained productivity. Through ongoing engagement with children, young individuals, parents, coaches, educators, and other stakeholders, and with the specialized mental health education and training provided by Cope and Live’s expert team, the RIFC Foundation aims to make the #MentorMe program sustainable, delivering measurable impacts and fostering resilient, functional communities.
