Strategic Partnership For Mental Health And Sustainable Peace In Nigeria

01

The Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation (CALMHAF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Peace Building Development Consult (PBDC). This formal partnership, concluded yesterday June 5, 2026, marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration aimed at advancing mental health and peacebuilding initiatives across Nigeria.

By integrating mental health and psychosocial support into established peacebuilding frameworks, the partnership will address the critical role of trauma healing, emotional resilience, and psychological well-being in fostering sustainable peace. This collaboration seeks to enhance community reconciliation efforts, strengthen leadership development, and support more effective interventions in fragile and conflict-affected regions, contributing meaningfully to national stability and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 3 and 16.

Rev. Chukwudiebube Nwachukwu, Founder and Executive Director, Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation:

“True and lasting peace cannot be achieved without addressing holistic healing spheres including mental, emotional, spiritual and environmental healing. This partnership with PBDC represents a significant step forward in embedding mental health support within peacebuilding frameworks. We remain committed to empowering individuals and communities to overcome trauma and build a more resilient future.”

Mr. Kayode Bolaji, Founder and Executive Director, Peace Building Development Consult (PBDC):

“Integrating specialized mental health expertise into our peacebuilding programs will substantially enhance their depth and long-term impact. We are delighted to partner with Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation to deliver more effective, trauma-informed interventions that promote genuine reconciliation and enduring stability across Nigeria.”

We extend our appreciation to all who contributed to this milestone and look forward to the impactful work ahead through joint training, community interventions, and collaborative advocacy.
