Empowering Change: Successful Capacity-Building Training Held in Enugu!

01

Dear Valued Supporters, Volunteers, Ambassadors, and Friends of Cope and Live,

We are thrilled to share exciting news from our recent milestone event!

On January 17, 2026, the Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation successfully hosted a dynamic capacity-building training session for our key stakeholders — including dedicated volunteers, passionate ambassadors, and committed state program managers — at our resource center in Enugu City.

The event welcomed both in-person and virtual participants, fostering inclusive engagement and uniting our network across different locations.

A major focus of the session was the review and discussion of our 2026 Action Plan. This plan reaffirms our core mission to:

  • Deliver preventive mental health care

  • Raise widespread awareness

  • Provide meaningful education

  • Offer compassionate support — especially to vulnerable populations

By adopting this proactive, problem-solving approach, we aim to:

  • Reduce stigma surrounding mental health issues

  • Encourage open conversations and help-seeking behaviors

  • Ultimately lower the long-term medical and societal costs associated with untreated mental health challenges

The training covered essential topics, including:

  • Clear definitions of key mental health terms

  • Factors influencing overall well-being (biological, psychological, social, and environmental)

  • The wide-ranging effects of poor mental health

  • Practical solutions and effective intervention strategies

Participants left the session feeling more empowered, purposeful, and enlightened. Many expressed a renewed appreciation for the critical role of timely mental health interventions in enhancing individual and community well-being.

This training marks an important step in strengthening our network of advocates and equipping them to drive greater impact in promoting mental health across Nigeria.

Thank you for standing with us as we continue this vital work. Your support — through volunteering, sharing our messages, or simply believing in the cause — makes all the difference.

Together, we are breaking the silence, reducing stigma, and building a healthier, more compassionate Nigeria.

Stay connected for more updates, upcoming events, and ways to get involved!

With gratitude and hope,
The Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation Team
