New Era for Mental Health in Plateau State: CALMHAF Appoints Amos Zingven Selkap as SPM
Plateau State, Nigeria – January 20, 2026
The Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation (CALMHAF) is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Amos Zingven Selkap as the new State Program Manager for Plateau State, effective January 6th 2026. This appointment represents a key step in strengthening our presence and impact in Plateau State, aligning with the Foundation’s mission to promote mental health awareness, provide compassionate support, and drive sustainable community development across Nigeria.
Mr. Selkap brings a diverse and robust background in community leadership, administration, and public service to this role. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (in view) from the University of Jos, an OND in Statistics from Federal Polytechnic Nassarawa (2009), and various professional certificates, including an International Executive Diploma in Disaster Management from LPMV Training School, as well as certifications in Effective Business Communication, Leadership and Career Progression, Understanding Public Service Rules and Reforms, and ICT as a tool to maximize Business Efficiency.
His extensive experience includes serving as Senior Executive Officer at the National Lottery Regulatory Commission in Abuja (2012–present), alongside numerous leadership positions in community and youth organizations. These include Secretary General roles with FOHAA Plateau State, Whyit Community, WACODA Abuja, and PACDA Abuja; Chairman of Nexus Youth Forum Plateau State chapter; North Central Zonal Coordinator for African Democratic Congress Advocates (ADCA); Secretary General of Wa Nkun Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd in Plateau State; and Communication Correspondence with the Global Center for Innovative Leaders in London (2021–present). He has also held media and campaign roles, such as Media Director for TOPKUP'S Governorship Campaign Team in Plateau State (2019–2020), and earlier positions in hospitality, church administration, and supervision.
Mr. Selkap’s skills in creativity, working under pressure with minimal supervision, quick learning and adaptation, building strong relationships across diverse backgrounds, attention to detail, and independent high-performance make him exceptionally well-suited to lead CALMHAF’s initiatives in Plateau State. His passion for hard work, community engagement, and people-centered approaches will be instrumental in advancing our programs.
As State Program Manager, Mr. Selkap will oversee and expand the Foundation’s activities in Plateau State, collaborating closely with the national management team to deliver impactful mental health awareness campaigns, community outreach, support services, and sustainable development projects. His leadership will emphasize measurable outcomes, periodic progress reviews, and alignment with CALMHAF’s broader goals of prioritizing mental well-being and empowering vulnerable communities.
