Hope + Compassion: What We're Planning for World Cancer Day and Beyond
Dear Friends, Supporters, and Partners of the Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation,
We hope this news finds you well.
On January 16, 2026, we hosted a strategic planning meeting at our resource center, bringing together representatives from the Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation, the UNTH Foundation, and the Oncoclinics Enugu Chapter.
The main purpose of this collaborative session was to coordinate our joint interventions for World Cancer Day on February 4, 2026. This year's official theme, "United by Unique", powerfully highlights people-centered care. It recognizes that every cancer journey is deeply personal and unique, while uniting us all in the shared mission to reduce the global cancer burden, improve outcomes, and support those affected with compassion and equity.
Through this collaboration, our planned interventions include:
Reducing stigma surrounding cancer through open conversations and education
Raising awareness and providing vital education on prevention, early detection, and treatment options
Offering comprehensive psychosocial and compassionate support for cancer patients and their families — including free mental health talks, assessments, and counseling sessions.
We are fully committed to making these efforts impactful, sustainable, and truly transformative in supporting the overall well-being of cancer patients and their loved ones.
This is more than an event — it's a movement toward greater empathy, understanding, and collective action.
We warmly invite you to join us!
